For Axel Lovers –Neko Ver-

Oneshot/short story

"Come on, _____. If you don't quicken up I'll leave you here!" your boss teased, Maria, teased. For a girl around her thirties she was kind of childish. But hey, that's what made her fun.

"I'm coming, sheesh," you answer, slipping onto your red jacket.

You walk out the door while Maria locked the shop up. You said your goodbyes and goodnight's then started walking home. The town was dangerous at night, and for you, unfortunately, your house was located on a street and you could only get there using one way: The Alleyway of Gangsters, at least, that's what they named it.

You walked silently till you reached the 'Danger Zone'. You inhaled and took a step inside the area before walking slowly. You heard footsteps behind you and you knew someone was following you. You dared not look back but you were terrified.

You suddenly felt cold hands trap your arms to the back. You tried to pry away but he was strong, very strong. You turned your attention to the figure in front of you. You growled at the man.

"Valex, let me go this instance!" you spat angrily. He circled around you. You struggled to get away from his team member but to no avail, because the more you struggled, the more he held you tighter.

"Tsk, tsk, I'm afraid not beautiful," he answered smoothly, letting his hand caress your face. You turned your head away.

His lips suddenly collided with yours, pulling you into a kiss. His breath reeked of alcohol and cigarette. It was disgusting. You bit his lip hard and he pulled away. Valex looked at you angrily before he slapped you. You coughed some blood but you didn't care.

"You better be obedient or I swear you'll regret it!" Valex snapped.

"Oh yeah, regret what?!" you spat viciously. Suddenly a knife slashed you, but missed your cheek just by inches.

"Don't think that just because of your pretty face you can get away at what you said and did," Valex shot angrily. Your insides were terrified but you couldn't let your true emotions of fright show, not now, not in front of this guy.

"Bet I can!" You retort viciously. He growled and raised his knife, aiming for your heart. You shut your eyes as he plunged the knife. Okay, you were supposed to be dead by now, but where was the pain and blood? You opened your eyes to see a redhead holding Valex's hand tightly.

"I don't think that's what a 'gentleman' should do," the mysterious man said, before knocking Valex's man unconscious using his elbow, but still holding Valex's arm. You, finally free, backed away.

"Who the hell are you?!" Valex asked, almost screamed, at the man.

"Let's just say a person who is about to steal your girl," the redhead taunted, grinning devilishly. Your face heated as soon as he said the words 'steal'.

Suddenly Valex slashed at the redhead's ribs. You didn't know how his hand was suddenly free but you were too focused on you mystery savior and how he was doing.

"Missed me," your savior said. He then swiftly took the knife and trapped Valex's arm, the same position as how his henchman did to you. He raised the dagger to Valex's throat.

"Now, get away from the young lady here, forever, or lose your life right here and right now," the redhead whispered dangerously, but just loud enough for you to hear.

Valex nodded and ran away, but not before the redhead made gash on his arm. He turned his eyes to you and smiled sweetly.

"Are you okay Miss?" he asked concernedly. You smiled back.

"I'm fine, thank you," you answered. You were about to leave till he grabbed your wrist.

"I don't think it's wise to walk home by yourself, 'specially now that I've seen what those filthy street rats do to beautiful ladies like you," the redhead said, eyes full of . . . Concern? You think.

"Then what do you have me do?" you asked. He pondered for a while before a grin broke out onto his lips.

"I'll walk you home," he said, releasing his grasp on you and reaching his hand out.

"My house is-" you started but were cut off.

"I know where your house is, don't worry," he answered politely. Wait, how did he know where your house was? Stalker-ish much.

You and he both walked quietly to your house. Along the way, he suddenly grabbed your hand. Your face heated up drastically and your heart started thumping loudly that you were sure the redhead could hear it.

Finally when you reached home, he gave you a small peck on the cheek. Your face heated up again, if that was even possible.

"Thank you, uh," you said, not knowing his name.

"Axel," he answers.

"Oh okay," you say.

Suddenly you trip and you braced yourself for the impact. You feel hands wrap around your waist and you look up to see Axel holding you. You break away, your hand brushing onto his ribs. You felt something sticky and look at your hand to see blood.

"Oi, Axel, you're bleeding!" you answered.

He looked at his ribs and looked confused. Wasn't he in pain?

"I didn't know that was there. Oh, must be when Valex struck me," Axel stated calmly.

You pushed him inside your house and closed the door shut.

"Take off your shirt now!" you ordered.

Axel smirked and did as told. You inspected the wound, it wasn't messy but it was pretty deep. You figured you had to stitch it up.

"Okay, now sit still," you said.

He sat calmly, that was until you started stitching. Something kept swatting your face, you didn't know what it was but you knew it was fuzzy.

"Axel, would you please stop shoving your plushie on my face?!" you screamed as soon as you were done.

"Plushie? Oh you mean, my tail," Axel corrected, eyes gleaming.

"Yeah your tai- wait what?!" you asked.

"Yeah, I'm half cat," Axel said.

Now that he said it, he did look kind of like what a cat would look like. You noticed he had emerald green orbs and slit-like eyes. There were reverse purple teardrop markings under his eyes and hips that could make any girl jealous. His spiky red hair looked like raging fire and you noticed his stride was like a feline's.  And of course, his red tail swished behind him and a pair of triangular ears twitched.

"I see," you answer.

Suddenly he kissed you on the lips. This was the second time a kiss took you by surprise, but unlike Valex's this one was sweet and gentle. You kissed him back slowly and he smiled, and then pulled away.

Axel stood up and opened the door.

"Hey, I've never gotten to know your name, mind telling me?" Axel asked.

"My name's _____," you answer.

"Well, _____ good night," he answered.

"Hey, wait, where do you know where I live?" you asked.

"That, my dear, is a secret," he answered slyly.

"When and where can I meet you?" you asked, feeling suddenly attracted to your handsome friend.

"In any of the alleyways, and don't worry baby, I'll know where you are," Axel answered while winking before leaving.

And from that day onwards, you kept seeing your feline-hybrid friend.
